The scroll of detect metal ("metal" or "det metal" for short) is a tier 1 divination scroll that turns the caster's screen black for 4-5 seconds (with an additional second for every magic level), only showing the metal parts of items and gold (see below); it has a magic skill requirement of level 1. The scroll reads "Perceptus metallum", meaning 'Perceive metal'. It can be used to find items or gold that are obscured by trees, walls, or other parts of the environment. It can also be used to find hiding players. If used after casting a scroll of potency, it will highlight all items, instead of only metal. It is the cheapest and most common scroll in Aberoth.
